Summer Exhibition at Gallery Yuyama: Solo Exhibition featuring Tetsuo Sekine

Summary

Echigo-Tsumari is covered with a thick blanket of snow during the long winter. The Gallery Yuyama proudly presents an installation of 100 panels both inside and outside of the gallery space featuring 100 “Yokai” of pure-white snow walking in line (Hyakki Yagyo or Night Parade of One Hundred Demons) this summer.

Gallery Yuyama

Gallery Yuyama opened in a renovation of an old minka house in Matsunoyama area as a part of abandoned house project under Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2006 and has been running exhibition throughout the year under the management of contemporary art group, GUN set up in 1967 in Niigata. They organise exhibitions and events throughout the year featuring themselves being artists based in Niigata exploring various ways of expressions.
