This one-day tour starts and ends at Echigo Yuzawa Station, where you can enjoy a hearty meal of Yukimi Gozen prepared by the village mothers. You can also enjoy winter art works.

*There is a possibility that the Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel will be closed due to heavy snowfall. In that case, we will make a stopover at other artworks.
*The order of stops and the time of disbanding at Echigo-Yuzawa Station will differ depending on the site of the Yukimi Gozen. Please check the itinerary that will be sent to you before the tour.

Kiyotsu Gorge is one of the three most beautiful gorges in Japan, created by 16 million years of earth history. Visitors can view the fusion of the beauty of the gorge and art in the 750-meter-long tunnel. The spectacular natural scenery, which changes with the seasons, is also a must-see.

Museum on Echigo-Tsumari (MonET)
The base facility of the Echigo-Tsumari Art Field, featuring works by prominent contemporary artists such as Kohei Nawa, Michiko Nakatani, and 目 [mé].
A winter-only exhibit will be held in the pond in the center of MonET, which will be transformed into a field of pure white snow.

Yukimi Gozen dishes, prepared with great care by the village mothers using local rice and vegetables, are not only nutritious but also delicious and satisfying to keep you going strong during the harsh winter months. The dishes are served in traditional lacquerware, which was once used for weddings and funerals in the village and has been treasured and stored carefully.

The center of the Matsudai area for the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale. You can enjoy artworks that look as if alien plants have suddenly sprouted in the snowy satoyama, as well as activities on the snow.

"The Last Class" by Christian Boltanski and Jean Kalman
The artwork enclosed the memories of the closed primary school which stands in the region covered with a thick blanket of snow for more than half of the year. Visitors will be immersed in the world of the artwork created by contemporary artist and light artist.

*When viewing the works, visitors will be walking on snow. Please wear snow boots or boots at least ankle-length.

*Yukimi Gozen is served on a tatami floor. Please consult with us if you have poor mobility.
