NPO Echigo-Tsumari Satoyama Collaborative Organisation

NPO Echigo-Tsumari Satoyama Collaborative Organisation was established for running artworks and facilities born from Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale and transforming them into projects contributing to revitalise Echigo-Tsumari region throughout non-festival years. Staff members consist of both those who are originally from the region and moving from other part of Japan. Our activities include not only running the festival once every three years but also maintenance of artworks in between years of the festival, presenting special exhibitions, events and workshop, engaging with rice production, welcoming visitors on guided tours, selling local delicacies and products, operating accommodations and restaurants. We work in co-operation with local people, artists, kobebi members and volunteers as we run and promote these activities.

We aim to transform the community for people to live with proud and joy, create jobs in the region and make the region a place where people with diverse background and different set of values can live together as we nurture a network beyond boundaries of places, generations and genru.
