Young women engage with farming in the declining community in the mountainous region while practicing and playing football - this is how FC Echigo-Tsumari began.
Looking from region's perspective, this means to present how Echigo-Tsumari, one of the heaviest snowfall regions, welcomes people from outside of the region and works with them and visitors to continue farming.
Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale has been engaged with a unique community building through art with artworks by artists who have highlighted charms of the region as well as collaborations between locals and volunteers when making these artworks in the mountain, river or rice field.
Based upon this principle of exchange between city and the region, Echigo-Tsumari has become a place where people are attracted to various activities to enjoy the basis of life such as art, food, farming, performance, music, satoyama exploration, and Echigo-Tsumari Forest School. The network of supporters are expanding engaging people of different age, genders, and nationalities.
What we have to include is sports.
This is a female football team set up under the agenda of "exchange between city and region" and "humans are part of nature". We are proud of network of participants from around the world who has will and passions. Welcome to FC Echigo-Tsumari - we look forward to your participation.
