The Rice Field by Ilya & Emilia Kabakov

Ilya & Emilia Kabakov are one of the most prominent artists of this era and known for artworks using paitings, objects, words and sound. Their artwork, The Rice Field, completes when viewing from an observation deck in Matsudai Nohbutai. Dragon Museum of Contemporay Art (DMoCA) by Cai Guo-Qiang

Cai Guo-Qiang, who is known for dynamic drawing using gunpowder, transfered a kilm from China to Echigo-Tsumari. Using its interior space for presenting artworks by other artists, this small museum, DMoCA has hosted exhibitions and installations by artists including Ann Hamilton (2012) and Peter Hutchinson (2015) (Photo by ANZAI)
