JR Iiyama Line Art Project
JR Iiyama Line runs across Echigo-Tsumari Region. This project will bring art to stations and turn them into places for locals and visitors meet as well as harbors of villages and natures behind the stations.
Due to depopulations and increase in ownership of cars, local train lines are about to disappear. Echigo-Tsumari is not an option as majority of the visitors come by car and don’t necessary use trains. This project aims to revitalize a region by connecting JR Iiyama Line (local line) and reveal that train lines are not just means to connect cities and countryside but also are places for exchange.
