Kyororo won “Japan nature conservation (spread of education)” award

Kyororo, a natural science museum featuring nature of Matsunoyama has been awarded "Japan nature conservation (spread of education)". The award was launched in 2014 by the Nature Conservation Society of Japan in order to reward activities which contribute to the conservation of the nature as well as protecting biodiversity.

Kyororo is located in Matsunoyama area in Tokamachi-city which is famous for heavy snowfall in winter. It was established in 2003 as an educational facility under the theme of natural science as a part of Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2003. They have been running workshops to learn and experience life of Satoyama as well as activities to protect lifestyle of Satoyama.
