2018 TRIENNALENEWSPosted : October 5, 2018
We are pleased to announce that a diverse range of activities we do under ETAT has been awarded Good Design Award and selected as "Good Design Best 100".
The reasons for the reward are ETAT being a pioneer of a community building project through art in the regional areas of Japan as well as its significant contributions to development of an alternative relation and engagement between the region and art. Moreover, the award selection committee appreciates that it is not just a festival taking place once every three years but rather a place where existing artworks are maintained and opened to the public, abandoned houses and closed schools are renovated and utilised and thus people visit the region inbetween the festivals.

"We will be looking forward to seeing how the Echigo-Tsumari Art Field will continue to evolve as a pioneer of the project which has discovered an alternative value of the region beyond conventional set of measurements such as size or efficiency." according to the selection committee. We feel very honoured that our on-going endeavour in non-festival years has received spotlight in addition to the triennale festival itself.
We look forward to welcoming you this autumn.
