Thomas Eller put photo of his face, arms and legs onto 4m-tall human-shaped sculpture. The supporting column is in the shape of "people" in Chinese character, wishing for increase in the number of people here.
40 "boys" wearing red lion cloths standing along the river bank of Shibumigawa river. Local people put them jumpers as winter falls.
Approximately 200 villages consist of Echigo-Tsumari Art Field. Each village has its distinctive style and wisdoms of enjoying and passing time in winter.
Local people work hard as soon as spring comes until they have to be ready for winter. They work hard in the field and preserve food for winter. Yukimigozen is served in plates and bowls that have been treasured in each house in the village.
