●Noh stage - A prayer for peace and post-earthquake reconstruction

In commemoration of the opening of the Noh Theater "Papillon/Pavillon", designed by Dominique Perrault, leading Noh and Kyogen actors will perform on the eve of the Triennial opening.

●Mori Shigeya Dance Performance

Butoh dancer Shigeya Mori expresses the ambience and memory of the land. He will create and perform a dance symphony, "Matsudai Dance: Picture of Rice Production," and other works at the "Rice Field", Nobutai, and various locations throughout the Tsumari region.

●KIMONO Fashion Show

Chiba University Kuriu Laboratory will hold a fashion show featuring kimono, a traditional industry of Tokamachi. The show will be performed on a runway made of straw with projected images of snow providing the background.

Ten groups of drum musicians from Japan, Europe, America, Asia, and Africa will perform together. The natural amphitheatre formed by the longtime process of agriculture will be transformed by the especially created banners and towers of artist Yukihisa Isobe

●Grand Openings in Tsunan High School
 
From U.S., Ei Arakawa will bring four artists together to Echigo-Tsuamri. They will simultaneously dance, sing and play the instruments in different classrooms of the high school. Unexpected joyful performances will happen!

●The World of Bunraku
Bunraku (traditional puppet theatre) is one of the three classic performing arts in Japan being awarded the classification of "World Cultural Heritage". It originated from farmers' dances to pray for peace and a good harvest. A joint performance of Bunraku and jazz marks a new epoch in the 350-year-history of Bunraku. Produced by Kanroku Yoshida
