《Photographer’s Comments on the Cover Photo》
While I was photographing a field of sunflowers in full bloom in the Tsunan area, I spotted someone washing a tractor by a rice paddy a short distance away, so I asked if I could take their picture. The temperature felt well over 40 degrees Celsius while I was shooting, and I vividly remember it as one of the hottest days of my life. With the deep, vivid blue summer sky, the red farm equipment, and the yellow rubber boots, I think this photo truly symbolizes summer in Echigo-Tsumari. The shots I took around this time were selected as the main visuals for the project.
