Echigo-Tsumari Kamigo Clove Theatre

The Kamigo Junior High School closed down in 2012 but was reopened as a new base for the performing arts. Kamigo Clove Theatre functions as a residency, practice facility, and a performing arts stage and theatre. Artists are invited to reside in this facility and lead a "satoyama" lifestyle and learn through collaboration with local people to influence their performances. Within the building is also a unique restaurant where meals are served by local women while they "perform" a theatrical piece.

Nunagawa Campus

Nungawa Campus opens its doors for anyone who is looking to learn and deepen their knowledge and wisdom of living through food, playing, and dancing to discover one's own confidence and strength. The tutors at Nunagawa Campus are artists and supporters of Echigo-Tsumari Art Field as well as local experts.

Isobe Yukihisa Memorial: Echigo-Tsumari Kiyotsu SoKo Museum of Art,[SoKo]

The gymnasium of the former Kiyotsukyo Elementary School has been transformed into a gallery space and warehouse for artworks. The opening exhibition "Four Artists: Materials and Hands" was launched in conjunction with the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2015. The remainder of the school building serves as an information centre as well as a platform for "Kiyotsu-ya" - a food project operated by a joint team of Tokyo Denki University and Kyoritsu Women's university during ETAT2015.

Echigo-Tsumari Satoyama Museum of Contemporary Art, KINARE

Designed by architect Hiroshi Hara, the building was unveiled in 2003 as a place for an exchange between people, products, and information. In conjunction with the ETAT2012, the building was renewed as the current Echigo-Tsumari Satoyama Museum of Contemporary Art, KINARE. The museum serves as a gateway to the Echigo-Tsumari region with artworks inspired by this area and representing its topography, history, villages, fields, closed schools and abandoned houses, and cuisine.

Matsudai Nohbutai is located just a few minutes' walk from Matsudai Station on the Hokuhoku Line. This building serves as an innovative platform for connecting art and agriculture, comprising of a visitors information centre, gallery, restaurant, and museum shop, and is a significant piece of contemporary architecture in its own right.

Matsudai History Museum

This history museum is a renovation of approximately 140-year-old Keyaki Minka (traditional Japanese house made of zelkova trees) which represents typical structure of the region with heavy snowfall in winter and displays tools and documentations of lifestyle of Matsudai area.

Forest School: Kyororo

A 10-minutes drive from Matsudai Station, Kyororo is a natural science museum that provides deep insights into the ecology of the local area and its characteristic natural landscape of terraced rice fields, beech forests, and thatched roof houses.

Hachi & Seizo Tashima Museum of Picture Book Art

※ The museum is closed during winter: from end of November to end of April
A walk-in picture book created by Seizo Tashima in 2009 in a former elementary school. The story behind this museum is based on the last three students of the school and visitors can physically experience the picture book as they walk through the museum. The space is filled with objects made of driftwood picked up in Izu Peninsula and from the Sea of Japan, reshaped to represent students, teachers, and even monsters.
