Yukihisa Isobe

After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1957, Isobe moved to the United States in 1965, received a green card in 1968, studied Ecological Planning, and completed the graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania in 1972. He worked at M. Paul Friedberg and Associates, as well as the Parks Department of the New York City Government as a planner before he set up “Regional Planning Team” in 1975. He has taught at Graduate School of Tokyo Institute of Technology, Keio University Shonan Fujisawa Campus, and University of Paris I, VIII. He presented artworks outdoor featuring Shinanogawa river at Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale (from 2000 to 2009 and 2015), Setouchi Triennale (2013) as well as solo exhibitions at Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo (2007) and Ichihara Lakeside Museum (2013). Publications include “Method and practice of ecological planning I, II” from Shokokusha in 1975, 1977.
