Tokamachi monyo is a combination of patterns of Echigo-Tsumari represented by Jomon pottery and leaves of a kind of native hemp with Karauksa - a simbol of "prosperity, vitality, and auspiciousness - originally brought from ancient Egypt in the Nara period to Japan.
