Born in 1967 in Michigan, USA. Studied English Literature at Colgate University. Binard moved to Japan as graduated from the university and started to create poems in Japanese. He received Nakahara Chuya Award for his poem, “Tsuriagete” (Shichosha) and Nihon Ehon Award for “Kokoga Ieda: Daigo Fukuryumaru by Ben Shahn”. He has published many
picture books and translations including the most recent one “Dome Gatari Mirai heno Kioku (Tamagawa University Publication) in 2017. He also hosts radio shows and TV programs.
