China House Project: Memory of the Wind
This special exhibition features five young Chinese artists and groups. While they are unable to visit Echigo-Tsumari, they have created respective artworks responding to the overarching theme, "Memory of the Wind" which, we hope, help connect China and Japan beyond time and space.

A very unique and fun - and yet allowing you to keep "social distancing" food court will welcome you at Matsudai Nohbutai. In addition to new menu at Echigo-Matsudai Satoyama Shokudo, the artist TOYOFUKU Ryo presents "Kagamichushin", an exotic food court offering take-away meals. You may also like to book "Satoyama BBQ" and enjoy eating outdoor.

“Splish-Splash Fair”: A summer exhibition at Echigo-Tsumari Satoyama Museum of Contemporary Art, KINARE
Enjoy a very summary exhibition including experiencing SUP in the pond in the courtyard and artwork with flowing water in the corridor. Don't forget to taste frozen icecream if your visit coincides with Saturdays and Sundays.

"Be free as you like!!" / "The Sound of Bamboo Played by the Wind"
The two special exhibitions are launcing this summer. The ground floor of the museum will be dominated by cat, Hoppe, colourful and detailed drawings by MATSUMOTO Michiko while you could also enjoy the installation of bamboo and sound by a wonder artist, MATSUMOTO Akinori.

We are pleased to bring Echigo-Tsumari Art Field 2020 Summer at last! The overarching theme for the summer program is "A playful summer holiday for everyone". In addition to the long-waited "Splish-Splash Fair" at KINARE, Matsudai Nohbutai presents Satoyama Food Court offering delicious takeaway food while you will be invited to join a "stamp-rally" to collect stamps as you visit artworks dotted around the region.
