About the artwork

The artist recreates a swimming pool, captured in a photograph taken in the summer of 1971, in miniature size and made of the soils of Oakasawa at the Oakasawa Branch School of Tsunan Primary School that was closed in the spring of 2021. With light holography appearing in water, the artist draws the fragmented part of the scene at the time in the present space.
