About the artwork

An installation of small light boxes resembling buildings in the Echigo-Tsumari region. Every single house in Yoshida area that the artist took pictures of while exploring the region is recreated as a small three-dimensional object. Inside the three-dimensional is lit up by bright light like a lantern. Through warm light overflown by the work, the breath and memories of a life that certainly exists in the Yoshida area emerge in the darkness.
