About the artwork

A vacant shop front in the Tokamachi shopping street was refurbished as a temporary cafe, where animated visuals were shown. The name of the cafe, Cafe Erica, was in memory of the Erica, a tanker that sank off the shore of France in 1999, and the visuals concerned that disaster’s impact on the environment.
