About the artwork

Snowmen are exhibited individually in six freezers fixed to a red-roof pavilion. The families of six snowmen represent the six municipalities of the region. The snowmen created by the artist together with children from Matsudai were allowed to melt and return to the earth after the Triennial 2000.
