About the artwork

A frame made of thick zelkova branches assembled in the shape of a dome is covered with colorful materials such as old tatami mats, tatami mat edging, rice straw, and stylish yukata. The space is raw but relaxing at the same time. This is said to be a hideout for the God of the Wind to drop by for a rest between the busy journeys across Echigo-Tsumari. The bed is made of firmly layered piles of rice straw and feels soft.
