About the artwork

In this project, people receive a postcard from a friend three years after it is sent. In Tsumari, visitors wrote messages to a friend using reply-paid postcards made by the artist, with the reply sent back to Tsumari. The messages will be kept in Tsumari for three years, and senders will receive the messages at the Art Triennial 2009. Since this project was conducted based on visitor participation under the postal system, even the artist could not stop it once it started. The artist slightly worried about this, but the cards actually started to arrive in Tsumari. We will be waiting to see how this project turns out at Art Triennial 2009.
