About the artwork

A bronze candleholder and candle modeled on an ancient cherry tree, said to be a hundred years old, at the Mouchi Elementary School. The candle stand is perforated with countless rectangular holes. The artist held workshop and performances over the time frame from producing the work and installing it, and dedicated the candle stand to the Inubuse Shrine.
