About the artwork

I made the work larger than a purely Japanese landscape, because my work is in this vein, projecting a mixture of continents and sometimes cultures, avoiding using the human figure in order to accentuate the landscape and sometimes structures and also to show a somewhat surrealist view of the planet as it might someday be when nature is respected and nurtured. The mixture of seasons in the work also shows a melding of time and space rather than the image of one particular time and place as is more usual in photographic works.
