About the artwork

About 200 objects of Japanese origin are displayed in this house, collected by the artist from flea markets in Australia. The collection has grown even more with additions made by members of the community of items that offer a visual narrative. In collecting ceramics painted with landscapes and exhibiting the natural history of the area through photographs, the artist attempts to make a comparison between “Nature as expressed” and the beauty of the actual landscape. The artist has transformed an abandoned house into a space housing a private collection where people can actively engage in discussion and exchange ideas with each other.
