About the artwork

Two new projects are installed around the work of the last exhibition, drawing inspiration from the artist’s picture book “Ticket to Happiness: Kiss & Goodbye” which is set along the JR Iiyama Line.
In one of the new projects, the local community “planted” planters depicting characters from the picture book using a traditional lantern created from a traditional Taiwanese weaving technique. In the second project, the artist created “memory mailboxes” for visitors to send “messages of happiness” on postcards that the artist himself designed.
Both projects are interactive with visitors and hope to be a part of the community outside of the festival period.
