About the artwork

From this work, created at a campground on Joyama (Castle Mountain) in Matsudai, you can view the center of the town and the mountains behind. This small tower made of expanded metal sheets and steel pipes has floors at four levels, ground to rooftop. Before installing it, members of P?riph?riques worked hard at the site deciding where to position the tower for the best views of the town through the trees. On the few sunny days during the exhibition period, it was wonderful to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery and refreshing breezes up on the tower after walking up the mountain path. The tower is likely to become a local landmark, to be enjoyed as an event space for locals and visitors. (*)
