About the artwork

The artists made five large panels with collages of old wood-block print such as fishermen and house-boat and laid them out in the landscape along the Shinano river. The rice field in the summer and snow field in winter were used to resemble the surface of the river and the same set of five panels appeared in the satoyama landscape as if they were props and setting for the theatre. They gave completely different look in summer and winter. Material: Aluminum composite plate, graphical print on PVC film, wood, temporary snow wall
