About the artwork

A giant herb garden in the shape of a human, Herbman. Each of the body parts was planted with medicinal herbs grown in Echigo-Tsumari believed to affect that body part. Various teas and dishes made from medicinal herbs growing naturally in the Tsumari area were offered at the medicinal herb caf? constructed from a renovated container. A variety of workshops were held during the exhibition period. Money collected by the project was donated to help build play areas for children in developing countries.
