About the artwork

This project involved revitalizing a house through the most fundamental and beautiful act, “drawing.” Using the entire house as a canvas, graphics kept increasing during the Triennial through collaborative work by various people. “Work continued every day, from morning to midnight, by staff and members of the Kohebitai (Little Snake Squad). One early morning, someone from the village brought me a basket of vegetables, leaving it quietly at the door. My heart was filled with the kind of tenderness that one only gets when reading a fairy tale.” (Kei Nakamura)
