About the artwork

The artist set up 18 aluminum scarecrows in vegetable fields and rice paddies. The scarecrows are painted in festival colors in a design that suggests traditional circular tie-dye motifs, while also functioning as intimidating eyes toward off birds. The artist placed them near the Tajiri Riverbank,an area long subjected to flooding.
