About the artwork

Visitors who stroll through the forest of Suyama adjacent to Echigo-Matsunoyama Museum of Natural Science will find works by Jenny Holzer scattered here and there along the path. The artist first proposed 58 texts, and later added 44 more. A total of 102 texts were engraved on individual rocks, which were then placed along the 1,800-meter path and left to speak to visitors who pause to read their messages. (*)
