About the artwork

An installation using the entire living room of an empty house. The word “voice,” expressed through a glowing sphere, lights up the Buddhist altar, and numerous ears dance like butterflies around it. Molded with beeswax, these are the ears of the people in the community. The voices filling the room are the words of people led through conversation with the artist. The house is filled with voices overflowing with pride in and affection for the land. If you look down through the hole between the floorboards, you will see images of swimming carp, and if you put your head up through hole between the mattresses lining the ceiling, you will see clouds of feather lining.
