About the artwork

A buckwheat field. At the end of a road lined with flowers stands a ladder reaching into the skies. From this location, one can overlook the Miyanaka damn, whose construction began in the Taisho era. Nearby, there is a memorial to workers killed during construction. A section of the Ohara village overrun by vegetation was cleared with the help of the local villagers. The flower road was created by workshop participants. A sequel to the artist’s previous exhibit titled “For the Many Lost Windows,” this work also hints at the invisible world.
