About the artwork

The artist has planted green plants in eight holes in a massive iron plate. The seven small holes occupy the same positions as the seven stars of the Big Dipper. An eighth lager hole suggests the Moon or the Earth. For the next Triennial,Kawaguchi has conceived a work representing the positions of the Big Dippres’s stars 100 thousand years from now.
