About the artwork

The artist visited 85 households around an primary school to gather iron. His materials ended up being various objects thickly coated in rust, such as farming tools and equipment for dealing with snow. The artist heated these up and beat them flat with a hammer, removing the artificial finish and function to produce pure iron. The artist calls this “the objects’ form after having done their job and in returning to the land.” Some visitors saw objects that bore memories with familiarity, saying “Hey! That’s ours!” or “We have one of those at home.”
