About the artwork
The artist has been engaging with the Shirahake village by participating in rice-planting, harvesting, and designing the packaging for rice for over a decade. Collaborating with the local community, she repeatedly cut out industrial steel into rings and welded them into one another to complete the tall artwork. The piece that looked like light and soft bubbles flying up in the air helped her make something real.
