About the artwork

Joumard stayed in Tsunan for an extended period in the summer of 1999, duriing which she conducted a Suteki Hakken workshop with the children. She returned to Tsunan in the spring of 2000 to conduct a workshop entitled “Making a Portrait of a Place.” She also assembled a collection of photographs entitled Tsunan from photographs she had taken while in the town.
