About the artwork

Visiting Koshirakura in May, when the daffodils were in bloom and dogtooth violets waved in the wind, the artist desired to place barley into the nature of Koshirakura. The ears of barley, having been exposed to rain, wind and sunlight for 50 days, made a transformation from their bud-like shape, by blossoming and then shrinking. The beauty was beyond the expectations of the artist as well. Various flowers were arranged in front of the exhibition house and visitors remembered the moment when nature changed.
