About the artwork

“Yidaki: Dijiridou and Australian Sound” is a touring exhibition which attracted great public attention when held at South Australia Museum from March to July in 2017. The YIDAKI (didjeridu) is a traditional musical instrument of the Aboriginal people in Australia. We are very pleased to invite to ETAT2018 Djalu Gurruwiwi, an internationally-recognised authority on the YIDAKI from both its musical and spiritual perspective to present the performance in collaboration with GOMA, who set off to Australia alone to learn about the didjeridu and Aboriginal culture under Gurruwiwi. In this event, GOMA, the most active group in Japan, and The Jungle Rhythm Section will perform a piece, followed by a finale co-starring Gurruwiwi himself and GOMA.
