【2024 Winter】Suzuki Yasuhiro "Horizontal Being|seeing snow" :Museum on Echigo-Tsumari special exhibition

Summary

Based on the concept of “waiting for snow,” giant people appear in MonET’s ponds and corridors.
Enjoy the experience of looking up at the naturally falling snow and feel the gift of nature with your whole body.

*Photo shows an image of the art work
*Art works at the pond will be open from 1/27 (Sat.)
*Some works may be closed due to weather conditions.

The “Horizontal Being” maintains balance with the navel as the center of gravity and floats in the air, reacting to wind and the slightest movement of the air.

The flat figure “平” posture, with hands folded behind the head, is the most vulnerable position for a human being. It indicates a place where the body and mind can relax. The act of napping is also a small, separate posture in which we sleep when everyone else is awake. It allows us to warp our consciousness from our daily lives.

The flat figure “平” posture, leads to “nature and the universe” via human beings and society.
It is seen as a posture in which human beings take a flat position along the earth, become a part of the earth, and “watch the snow” descending from the sky, and set their eyes firmly on the earth.
