Early Summer Stroll: Spot the Flora and Fauna Coming to Life and Keep Pests at Bay

Summary

Join a guide for a stroll through the Field Museum in early summer, after the rice planting is complete, and discover the seasonal flora and fauna, including creatures living in the rice paddies, as well as the flowers of the snow camellia and the mimosa tree. You’ll also have the chance to experience “mole chasing”—a tradition where participants use a mallet made of grass to beat the edges of the rice paddies, praying to ward off pests and harmful animals.
