Special Exhibition: Tsuchiya Ayumi’s artworks “Round Song Circle” and “Path of Sound,” where wooden balls are rolled across a xylophone to play melodies. These artworks, originally presented at the Museum on Echigo-Tsumari, MonET Special Exhibition ” Captain Monet and the Voyage Across the Great Snowfield ” in winter 2025, continue to be on display at the NUNAGAWA Campus.

In addition to playing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” by rolling wooden balls, you can also create your own tunes by swapping out the xylophone bars.
After working at a company, she enrolled in Tama Art University’s Faculty of Art and Design. She studied spatial design.In 2012, she graduated at the top of her class from Tama Art University’s Faculty of Art and Design. Working independently with self-taught woodworking skills, she creates handcrafted artworks based on the concept of “See, Touch, Hear.” Her work has been exhibited in museums, science centers, and art events, and she has also collaborated with companies such as Muji, Karimoku, Benesse, and Tokyo Disney Resort. She received a Merit Award at The One Show (New York), one of the world’s three major advertising awards.
