“Splish-Splash Fair”: A summer exhibition at Echigo-Tsumari Satoyama Museum of Contemporary Art, KINARE

Summary

The gigantic artwork by Leandro Erlich, “Palimpsest: pond of sky” will be transformed into a water playground this summer. Try SUP, standing puddle boat, experience artworks using water and air, or taste frozen ice cream at “Splish-Splash Fair”.

”Para-fu-ku" presented by Akira Higashi

Put on unique clothes “para-fu-ku” which infrates as you blow air in. Adult wears para-fu-ku and kigs play inside of the para-fu-ku. There will be a workshop to make parachute during the summer.

Admission	Adult JPY800 / Children age under 15 JPY400 ※ Admission includes access to the permanent collections. ※ Echigo-Tsumari Art Field 2019 Summer special ticket gives access to the exhibition once between Sat 10 to Sun 18 August 2019.
Note	Notes for visitors: ・The pond is not a swimming pool. Swimming is prohibited. ・Bringing in any toys and equipment is not allowed. ・The pond is about 30-40cm deep. Small children must be accompanied by adults. ・Please take off a pair of shoes/sandals when playing in the pond. ・We may have to close the access to the pond in case of bad weather.

Museum on Echigo-Tsumari, MonET

The base facility of the "Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale". The architecture was designed by Hara Hiroshi + ATLIERΦ, who also designed the Kyoto Station Building. Fifteen permanent works by artists from Japan and abroad are on display throughout the year, with special exhibitions held seasonally and a museum shop. In 2021, the museum reopened with a major relocation of the permanent collection.
