"Australia House An Autumn Gathering 2026"

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the signing of the 1976 Japan-Australia Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation. We will hear from Mr. Yoshikazu Kondo, former president of the Joetsu Japan-Australia Association, about the peace and friendship exchanges between Joetsu City and Cowra, Australia. The event will feature a “Coffee Time” session introducing Australian café culture, as well as a lunch of locally grown new-crop rice onigiri and mushroom soup. In the afternoon, we will work with local residents to prepare “Australia House” for winter.
