Born in Fukagawa, Tokyo in 1952. Graduated from Tokyo College of Photography in 1974. Since 1970 he has been photographing around downtown districts of Tokyo. He has also held lectureship at Tokyo College of Photography, Tokyo Zokei University, Kanto Gakuin University, and Musashino Art University. He was a board member of Nikkor Club between 2000 and 2008 and managing member of Nikon Salone. Received the 22nd Taiyo Award for “Town of Kawaguchi” in 1985 and the 18th Kimura Ihei Photography Award in 1993 for “Distant Summer” so as “Edogawa Culture Honorable Award”.
