Tadashi Kawamata
Born in Hokkaido in 1953. Currently resides in France. Major exhibitions and projects include Destroyed Church (1987, documenta, Kassel, Germany), Working Progress (1996-99, Alkmaar, the Netherlands), Le passage des Chaises (1997, Festival d’Automne, Chapelle Saint-Louis de L’hôpital Pitié Salpêtrière, Paris), Tadashi Kawamata: Tokyo in Progress(2010-2013, Tokyo). He has published Artless: Contemporary Art as a Minority (2001, Film Art, Inc)

edition.nord
edition.nord was launched as a publishing project of a design practice, schtücco, in Shinjuku, Tokyo in 2008. Shin Akiyama and Ayako Tsutsumi, the core members of the practice moved to Minamiuonuma in Niigata where Akiyama is originally from in the end of 2010 and became a current team of three including Hanako Egashira, a local artist. In addition to design works, it constantly publishes a couple of books every year and participates in Art Book Fair in New York since 2015. They receive invitations to join art book fairs, exhibitions and forum about books from around the world and continue to expand inter-local activities beyond the borders.
