TODO

Japan

Born in 1969 in Tokyo, raised in Uwajima. There is always the accumulation of time behind Todo’s artworks. Artworks respond to the theme of “uniqueness of place” and are in various forms from sculptures made of materials picked up as he walks, something made of the book, clock, and old wooden box, to drawing capturing everyday life. The most famous artworks are stones enclosing the history of places from all over the world that are cut, embedded with glass, and polished up. The recent works use the rubbles of buildings disappearing in the metabolism of society and cultured pearls in Uwajima where he is originally from.
