About the artwork

Large tapestries and plates of glyphs made by children from the neighboorhood. In both, the message begins with “a i u e o” the first five glyphs in the japanese syllabary, and ends, unexpectedly, not with the “yu yo ra ri ru re ro wa wo n” that concludes the usual recitation of the syllabary but with “yuu topia” or utopia. The se pieces were presented as part of his plan for building a small art museum whose theme would be a utopia for children.
