About the artwork

There are fallow rice fields in the Kamou community, which is shaped like a cone. The artists came up with this project to connect the past and future in this place which is being forgotten in the midst of the stream of depopulation. They asked the inhabitants to dig holes in the shape of their memories in the fields, poured wax into them and lit a fire. The shapes of the memories — dragonflies they had chased in their childhood, footprints of wild rabbits, rice-were inscribed on the earth and lit up.
